Recycling of auto motives or vehicles can be explained as the dismantling of vehicles in order to acquire spare parts. Every automotive that has lived its entire useful life is usually considered as a gold mine for collecting recyclable components or materials. Individuals who are getting a living out of this type of work created a field known as the dismantling industry. This dismantling industry has various terms used to identify its outlets these terms are such as wrecking yard, car spare part supplier, vehicle or auto recycling and auto dismantling yard. There are usually millions of vehicles that come to an end in their usefulness, so manufacturers come in and take what can be useful and recycle it so that it may serve again for a period of time. Even though these auto motives are out of commission they can still be useful by giving back metal or any other material that can be recycled.
Many parts of an automotive need to be recycled and other parts need to be removed, therefore, the process of recycling is very complicated. Once the vehicles enter the dismantling yard they are first inventoried for parts. In the first stage, all wheels, tires plus the battery and catalytic converter are removed. After that we will have the fluids, such as air conditioning refrigerant, oil, gasoline, engine coolant and transmission fluid, removed too. In these vehicles certain parts that are highly valued are also found, they include starter motors, electronic modules, infotainment systems and alternators. This parts may be removed if their condition allow them to be of more service and can be sold to the manufactures for restoration.
After all the parts and products are remove what remains is the shell of the vehicle which is usually crashed flat or cubed so that it can facilitate an economical transportation in bulk to a hammer mill or industrial shredder. Immediately when they get to the industrial shredder they get reduced to chunks of metals that are usually like size of a fist. So that only metal can remain, the glass, rubber and plastics are removed in the mix during the process. During the process the plastic, rubber and glass are usually removed so that only metal can remain. So this metal is stored and allowed to accumulate and get transported in bulk to steel mills for recycling.
Recycling is beneficial to the whole globe at large for it saves energy and the natural resources. Compared to making metal, recycling metal is said to use 75 percent less energy. Hence, enough energy can be saved by the steel industry which is capable to power over 18 million homes all throughout the year every year. It will wise to say that recycling is very essential to the humans and their environments.
